What is an Occlusal Splint?

An occlusal splint is a custom-made device worn in the mouth to help alleviate symptoms of Temporomandibular Joint Disorder (TMJ/TMD) or associated headaches.

When should you consider wearing an occlusal splint?

An occlusal splint may be beneficial if you experience any of the following issues:

  • Pain in the jaw joints.
  • Clicking or popping sounds in the jaw joints.
  • Headaches, neck aches, shoulder aches, or back pain.
  • Teeth grinding.
  • Teeth clenching.
  • Difficulty opening the mouth fully.
  • Deviation or deflection of the jaw joint during movement.

This therapy is designed to provide relief by reducing strain on the jaw joints and muscles, helping restore balance and comfort.
